Design Sprint Prototype Plan: Storevine Brief Interface Validation

Scenario

Thursday morning 2026-07-16, 09:30 PT. Wednesday closed with Mei supervoting Sketch A + D as rumble and a 7-panel storyboard with two-prototype branches locked. The team invokes tool-design-sprint-prototype-plan before parallel build work begins.

Prototype Role Plan

RoleOwnerDay allocationNotes
MakerTasha09:30-16:30 PTBuilds Sketch A + Sketch D Figma frame sets (~3.5 hrs each)
StitcherTasha + Devon13:00-16:30 PTInteractions + counterbalance logic
WriterMei09:30-12:30 PTBrief copy for both prototypes (subject lines, narrative leads, action specifics)
Asset CollectorDevon09:30-15:00 PTReal-looking specialty-retail sample data (SKUs, stores, qty) for Bayfront + Carlos network types
InterviewerCarlos09:30-12:30 script draft + 14:00-15:00 mock-run + 15:30-17:00 trial runCounterbalanced script

Doubling-up: 4-person team; rumble build is the heaviest config. Tasha + Devon paired on Stitcher for the rumble.

Prototype Brief

What to build: Both Sketch A and Sketch D realized as clickable Figma frame sets covering Panels 1-5 of the storyboard. Panels 6-7 (recall + action-taken) covered by interview probing, not prototyped.

Fidelity bar: Mobile-first Figma frames; email view + PDF view + web companion view per prototype. Copy final; sample data realistic; visual design on-brand.

Time: Tasha 3.5 hrs per prototype = 7 hrs total; Devon supports interactions + asset realism.

NOT being built: Real POS data integration; actual analyst-review workflow; non-storyboard panels.

Interview Script (Five-Act)

Welcome (5 min)

Hi [name], thanks for joining. I’m Carlos. The next 60 min is a conversation; no wrong answers. I’ll show you two early versions of a Monday brief we’re working on for specialty retailers. Recording today’s session per the consent form. Sound good?

Context (8 min)

  1. Tell me about your Monday morning routine - what do you open first, in what order?
  2. When you get a buying recommendation from a tool or report, what makes you act on it vs ignore it?
  3. What’s the longest you’d spend reading a Monday morning brief before moving on?

Intro (4 min)

I’ll show you two different brief formats. For each, I’ll ask you to imagine you got it this Monday morning, open it, and tell me what you’d do. Think out loud.

Tasks (32 min; 16 min per prototype, counterbalanced order)

Task A (16 min - shown first or second per counterbalance): “Here’s Brief Format A. It’s Monday 07:30 AM. Open the email; tell me what’s most important; tell me what you’d do Monday.” Probe: “What’s the top action? How did you know? How long did that take?”

Task B (16 min): Same for Brief Format D.

Counterbalance: Customers 1, 3, 5: A first then D. Customers 2, 4, 6 (buffer): D first then A. This controls for order-effect on the comprehension-time measurement.

Debrief (10 min)

  1. Overall reaction to both?
  2. Which would you actually use? Why?
  3. If you could change one thing about the one you prefer, what?
  4. What would you pay monthly for this if it were real and worked?
