everyone we love..." or "Standing here with you, I want to say..." - orient yourself to the
person, not to the room.]

## The Promises
[The commitments themselves - first-person, direct, specific to this relationship. "I promise
to..." structured in 3-5 distinct vows. Name particular qualities of the relationship or the
person, not only generic virtues.]

## The Close
[Land on the enduring nature of the promise. Invoke permanence and the scope of the
commitment - what you are choosing through all that comes. Ends with the speaker's own closing
words to the partner, not an invitation to the room.]
